It's two colors at once. All it takes is rain and the orange Skyline they're looking for is black, or vice-versa. Just seems kind of iffy to me.

I like the automatic assumption that anything cool must be illegal.

Like putting LED's on your wheels so they can make images while you drive.

It's not that, though. It's just that if they're ever looking for the car, they'll be looking for an orange Skyline or a black one depending on the weather at the time of the incident. If the outside temperature changes, the car is a completely different color. That just seems kind of iffy to me.

Before I read the title I thought they were pouring some kind of acid on the paint. That's actually really freaking cool.

This is more awesome than using a Warthog as a DD.

I didn't mean to sound snarky, if I did.

That was my reaction, at least. "Whoa, that's awesome! I bet it's illegal..."

In my experience, what is and is not legal on a car is almost entirely unrelated to practicality.

Looks like an angry ex-girlfriend took revenge on his car with some 10w-30.

is it illegal to paint your car a different color every day? As far as i know, its not.

A simple google search led me to this post:

"No you don't have to inform anyone, And I'm not sure they would listen if you did. The only time laws come into effect when changing color is removing the door jamb stickers. By law you can't remove any factory placed decal that displays info, Like the VIN, Tire size and pressures, or load rating.
Your only legal option is to tape over the decals. But almost every time ive taped a door jamb decal it bleed through the edges of the decal (not the tape) OR when you remove the tape it can take the clear plastic off."

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-general-dis…

and pretty much you dont have to worry about changing anything on your title.

It just might be a good idea to let insurance know the color is changed if anything were to happen to the car.

Id go out on a limb and state, its definitely legal (except maybe california, because, theyre kinda silly).

I thought it was changing because of the water itself, but it's actually heat sensitive. Very cool.
